  Transitioning from Venturers to Rovers is one of the most exciting steps in a Scout’s journey — but it can also be one of the most daunting. That’s where RoVenture comes in. RoVenture is a state-based activity event designed by Rovers, for Venturers , offering a genuine taste of what Rovering is all about. It creates a fun, supportive, and inspiring environment that helps Venturers see themselves as future Rovers, strengthening the bridge between sections and increasing transition and retention.   What is Knight Moves? Knight Moves is a multi-Section Scout activity organised and hosted by Brisbane North Region run in Term 3 of the scouting year. Now in it's 14th year, it has beocme a cult classic amoungst participants with it's heavily themed backstories, costumes, quirky activites and plenty of fun thrown in. We believe the interaction between the sections will encourage our Scouts and Venturer Scouts to move up to their next relevant section and inspire Rovers to become Adult Leaders and take ownership of the event. Purpose: The main purpose of Knight Moves is to engage Scouts in a nighttime activity that challenges their navigation and hiking skills. Activity Format: The activity involves teams completing a nighttime course on Saturday and a daytime assessment course to ensure teams have the necessary skills to safely navigate their way around the nighttime course. What is Operation NightHawk? Night Hawk is a popular annual scouting competition designed specifically for Venturer Scouts (aged 14–18) and Scouts (for a separate, younger division). Hosted by Darling Downa Region Scouts , the event brings together patrols from across Queensland and Northern NSW to test their teamwork, navigation, survival, and problem-solving skills — all under the cover of darkness. The Concept Venturer teams of 4–7 members navigate through a challenging bushland course at night using only maps, compasses, and their wits. Along the way, they visit a range of activity bases where they complete tasks that may include: First aid simulations Problem-solving challenges Pioneering or knots Communication skills Emergency response drills Team coordination exercises Each base awards points based on performance, cooperation, leadership, and problem-solving.  What Is Noosa Venture? Noosa Venture is a dynamic weekend camp that brings together Venturer Scouts from across the region to participate in a range of outdoor adventures and team-building exercises. The camp is typically scheduled for the end of November or early December, providing a perfect conclusion to the scouting year. Participants can look forward to activities such as kayaking, hiking, problem-solving challenges, and leadership exercises, all set against the scenic backdrop of Noosaville.   ULTIMATE SAILING PROGRAM (USP) The Ultimate Sailing Program (USP) is an immersive 4-day camp designed for Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders who are eager to learn sailing and develop leadership skills on the water. Hosted by the Brownsea Water Activities Centre in Shorncliffe, Queensland, this program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sailing, teamwork, and maritime safety. Every school holidays there is an opportunity for your Scout to attend a USP at Brownsea during the school holidays. This is a great opportunity to experience and lean all about sailing over 4 days and make friends with other scouts. URBAN CHALLENGE Urban Challenge is an annual competition camp in the style of an Amazing Race and Scavenger Hunt. An event run by Rover Scouts for Venturer Scouts. There is a different theme every year where the Venturers will explore Brisbane City using public transport and visiting bases throughout the inner city suburbs to complete challenges at different bases. These adventures are designed to test their leadership, teamwork and problem solving skills.   This event see Venturer Scouts coming from all over Queensland and Northern NSW. Venturers are encouraged to be creative, decorate their camp site and dress to theme. Some team are very competitive and other team are all about fun! Every attendee will received an unlimited GO Card for the duration of the event and the highly sort after event bucket hat.
