 What Is Noosa Venture?

Noosa Venture is a dynamic weekend camp that brings together Venturer Scouts from across the region to participate in a range of outdoor adventures and team-building exercises. The camp is typically scheduled for the end of November or early December, providing a perfect conclusion to the scouting year. Participants can look forward to activities such as kayaking, hiking, problem-solving challenges, and leadership exercises, all set against the scenic backdrop of Noosaville.

It is an annual weekend adventure camp organized by the Brisbane North Region of Scouts Queensland, specifically designed for Venturer Scouts aged 14–18. Held at the Noosa Sea Scouts base in Noosaville, Queensland, this event offers a unique opportunity for young individuals to engage in a variety of challenging and enjoyable activities, fostering personal growth and community spirit.

Event Details

  • Location: Noosa Sea Scouts, 11 Eumundi Rd, Noosaville QLD 4566

  • Dates: Typically held in late November or early December

  • Eligibility: Open to Venturer Scouts aged 14–18

  • Facilities: Basic camping amenities, including toilets, showers, and BBQ areas

  • Camping:  Bracken Ridge camp as part of the Bramble Bay District contingent

Advertureous Activities Offered in the Past

All Day Saturday Activities
• Australia Zoo – crikey what a day out. Saturday only – all day activity
• Up River Fishing - you, a boat & the Noosa River, what could be better? Limited numbers. Saturday only - all day activity.

Special Activities
• 4WD – Beach - 4wding along Teewah beach to Double Island Point with opportunities for swimming and games.
• 4WD - Bush - 4wding through the bush to find the Mothar Mountain Rockpools and enjoy a relaxing swim if you want.
• Eumundi Markets – go shopping at a local icon. Great stores, bring cash, minimal ATM access.
• Abseiling - subject to weather. 
•Bridge Building - Can you work as a team and construct a bridge in or near by the campground? 
• Snorkelling - go snorkelling in the local area under the guidance of qualified Scouting leaders.
• Op Shopping - Check out the local op shops and grab a Xmas bargain. Be aware some places may only take cash.
 
All Session Activities
• Indoor Rock Climbing – rock climbing at Rock It. 
• Beach bumming – relaxing at the beach 
• Body Boarding– spend a session on the beach riding the waves
• River Cruise – take a leisurely cruise up the Noosa River, see the sites and stop for a swim when you want
• Laser Tag – test your marksmanship in a bush setting
• The Great Scavenger Hunt – solve the clues and hunt down as many items as you can, some challenges may be involved
along the way
• Fishing – try and catch a big one closer to shore 
• Thrill Hill Water park – spend your time riding the largest water slide on the coast 
• Aqua Fun Park – Take on the floating obstacle course if you dare 
• Kayaking - subject to weather. 
• Stand Up Paddleboard - subject to weather.
